Oreo Mug Cake

This Oreo mug cake is ready in a flash. With ground-up Oreos and a few pantry staples it's easy to make and even easier to eat. Perfect with a scoop of ice cream of course!

  • Large mug (1& ½ US cups/350mls)


  • 5 whole Oreos
  • 2 teaspoons cocoa powder
  • 2 & ½ tablespoons self raising flour
  • 1 teaspoon white sugar
  • ¼ cup & 1 tablespoon (80mls) milk
  • 1 & ½ teaspoons vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract or essence


  • Crush up the oreos into a powder.
  • Add the crushed up Oreos and other dry ingredients to the mug, cocoat powder, self raising flour and white sugar to the mug and mix well.
  • Add the milk, vanilla essence and vegetable oil and mix well.
  • Microwave on high for one to one and a half minutes, depending on the strenght of your microwave.
  • Remove and tuck in!


  • Make sure you use a microwave-safe mug!
  • Mug size: use a large mug (1 & ½ US cups/350mls)
  • Put the mug on the out edge of the microwave plate for evenly cooked mug cake
  • Only cook one mug cake at a time.  If you are making more than one, cook them one after the other.
