Equipment

  • Stick/immersion blender, blender or food processor.

Ingredients

  • 2 medium bananas
  • 2 scoops vanilla ice cream
  • 2 cups milk
  • ½ teaspoon nutmeg or cinnamon

Optional deccorations

  • ½ cup whipped cream
  • 5 or 6 banana chips
  • 2 maraschino cherries

Instructions

  • Optional: peel and slice the bananas into coins. Put on a baking tray lined with baking paper and freeze for thirty minutes or until frozen. Put the glass in the freezer to chill.
  • If using homemade whip cream, whip the cream until firm peaks form and transfer to a piping bag. Finely chop or blend the chips until they resemble coarse bread crumbs.
  • Add the banana, ice cream, nutmeg and milk to a tall jug you can use an immerson/stick blender in.
  • Blend until smooth and well mixed.
  • Pour into chilled glasses. Top with whipped cream, banana chip crumbs and a cherries. Add straws and you're done!

Notes

I recommend pre-chilling your milkshake glasses to help it stay frosty for longer.
Slicing the bananas into coins and freezing for about thirty minutes will help give you a colder, thicker, creamier milkshake.
